To help with our continuing growth we are seeking a dynamic operational leader, with a successful track record of implementing and driving a continuous improvement, ensuring world-class levels of quality and service, supporting and developing a management team, whilst improving on efficiencies and effectiveness and ultimately grow the business.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have a proven record of success in senior operations leadership within a related industry.

  • You will have significant experience in leading people and managing resources
  • You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques
  • You should also evidence first class leadership skills, excellent communication skills, organisational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritise
  • Ideally you will hold a degree in a management discipline or a professional qualification
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles
  • You must have the right to live and work in the UK.

Job Description

 Job Title:  Operations Director
Location  Swansea
Reports to:  Managing Director
Core Hours: 8am-5pm Monday to Friday
Salary:  Competitive, based on experience
 Job Purpose
To lead the company’s Refurbishment, CEM and Warehousing operations, providing strategic guidance and direction to the company’s workforce to ensure that the company achieves its objectives and growth plans, whilst respecting the company’s vision and values.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Leading and motivating a work-force of over 120 employees
  • Develop, monitor and improve KPI’S, labour cost & efficiency
  • Leading the implementation of efficiency improvements leading to tangible improvements to operating margins
  • Directing and controlling the work and resources of the operations team
  • Ensure that stock integrity is maintained and that all aspects of the goods-in and goods-out processes are completed correctly
  • Maintain total compliance at all times with WEEE, AATF, ISO and SLA’s
  • Ensure all items are to be fully asset tracked from arrival to dispatch
  • Ensuring that 100% of Data destruction is met in accordance to the standard and that all records & evidence is kept
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders, clients, suppliers, sub-contractors
  • Helping grow Trojan’s business reputation and longer term business opportunities through effective client relationship management
  • Work with senior colleagues to ensure that business achieves ambitious growth plans
  • Developing and maintaining a Health and Safety culture throughout the business and compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring all sites are operating and audited by the compliance team in line with the operating procedures

Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • A proven track record of success in senior operations leadership position, ideally at director level
  • Experience in leading people through change and growth
  • To hold a higher degree in a management discipline or a professional qualification or significant experience
  • An understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Self-motivated and resilient to change
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to liaise with colleagues and customers at all levels
  • Organised, methodical, realistic and reliable
  • Strong IT skills and competent with Microsoft Office packages
  • A team player with the ability to flex requirements to meet the needs of the business.
